In a closely contested election, Tabara Kato secures victory as the newly elected National President of the Southern Kaduna People’s Union, garnering 342 votes against the sole contender, Samuel Achie, who secured 299 votes.
The electoral process, overseen by committee leader Andrew Yakubu, extended into the early hours of Sunday with the participation of over 600 delegates nationwide.

The News Agency of Nigeria highlights that SOKAPU serves as the socio-cultural umbrella body for all 67 ethnic nationalities in Southern Kaduna, spanning 12 of the state’s 23 Local Government Areas.
