“I’m pleased with the Vice Chancellor’s comments and encourage emulation by all departments. Utilize your land, reaching out to others for project participation.

Speaking on fundraising, he emphasized, “We can’t rely solely on the government. This project showcases people ready to move the institution forward. Let’s raise more funds; without them, nothing can be achieved. Mobilize people to attend and donate, and the Almighty Allah will reward your contributions.”

In his welcome remarks, Prof. Abdul Rasheed Na’Allah, the Vice Chancellor, stated, “Today marks a significant occasion, with the Department of Islamic Studies pioneering such initiatives. We strive to set an example for other departments to follow.”

Recognizing the limitations of government funding, he added, “Nigerians must recognize the need for billionaires to invest in humanity, whether in universities or other sectors. Your contributions yield rewards for good governance.”

Head of the Department of Islamic Studies, Associate Prof. Musa Olaofe, explained that the journey of these edifices began three years ago.

He said Engr Abdul Kabir Adisa Aliu, who donated the complex, expressed interest after establishing an annual scholarship for 10 Muslim students at the University.

Olaofe elaborated, “We decided to enhance this occasion with fundraising, as additional structures are needed, including staff offices, classrooms, a lecture theatre, library books, computers, lockup shops, and more.”
