In the aftermath of the November 11 gubernatorial election, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, faces a setback as he fails to meet the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal’s filing deadline within the 21-day ultimatum.

This development follows the declaration of Usman Ododo from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the victor by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

As the clock ticks past the tribunal filing deadline, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, SDP’s hopeful contender in the November 11 election, finds himself unable to challenge the results.

The 21-day ultimatum has lapsed, leaving Ajaka with limited options in contesting the outcome of the gubernatorial race.
