Jigawa State Road Maintenance Agency (JIRMA) has warned communities around road side in the state to desist from activities capable of vandalizing the roads infrastructures such as digging sands or pebbles by the road side, that cause erosion, flooding and other damages to the road.
The Managing Director of Jigawa State Roads Maintenance Agency, Engineer Abbas Muhammad Lalai made the warning while speaking to newsmen in Dutse, noted that strict legal action will be taken against any one found guilty of such Vandalization.
He said, the state government has been investing billions of Naira annually for construction and maintenance of roads to facilitate movement of goods and services for growth and development in the state.
” We will take all nacessery measures to tackle any activities capable of causing damage to our road, the safety of our roads and motorist plying the roads are our main concern in JIRMA ”
” We are also calling on the general public to support Government effort towards making roads safe and secure at all times for enhancing the socio-economic fortunes of the state.
Engineer Abbas than assured the people of the state the commitment of the JIRMA to c execute many projects in 2024 as adequate budget allocation was made to the Agency by Governor Malam Umar Namadi.
He maintained that, JIRMA is open for any public suggestions or observation that will help in improving the safety of the state road”s infrastructure, and they are also committed to use modern technology for standard and quality work.
The Managing Director further called on all drivers from within and outside the state to be more conscious on speed limits and other rules on the road including overload to avoid unnecessary road crashes that kills people, injured many in daily basis.
