The alliance between the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation becomes pivotal.

This collaboration aims to enhance agricultural production efficiency, addressing the challenges of water availability crucial for year-round farming.

Extending collaboration beyond agriculture-centric ministries, a holistic approach involves partnerships with the Ministries of Power, Trade and Investment, Environment, Humanitarian Affairs, Science and Technology, and Finance.

These collaborations strengthen the fabric of sustainable food security, addressing various facets of production, processing, distribution, marketing, and consumption.

The declaration of a state of emergency on food security gains potency through the lens of enhanced partnerships.

Mr. President’s initiative becomes more effective when underpinned by collaborations among institutions and stakeholders relevant to various aspects of agricultural development.

Highlighting the commitment of Agriculture Ministers through participation in events like the Annual National Agricultural Show, wheat farming kick-off in Hadejia, Jigawa State, Africa Seed Connect, and Good Morning Nigeria, underscores their dedication to the cause.

To boost agricultural productivity, a targeted approach involves incentivizing Small Holder Farmers (SHFs). Ensuring timely access to affordable inputs, including light mechanization, becomes crucial.

Rigorous monitoring and periodic evaluations, with farmer-leaders integrated into assessment teams, ensure the effectiveness of interventions.
