Amidst the backdrop of climate-induced adversities in Nigeria, from desertification and flooding to erosion and drought, President Tinubu’s mission is clear.

At COP28, he aims to leverage the global stage to call for increased financial and technical support for developing nations.

A poignant reminder will be sounded to developed countries, urging them to honour their commitment of providing $100 billion annually to address climate change-related challenges at the grassroots level.

President Tinubu’s message extends beyond governments. He emphasizes the imperative of holding businesses and institutions accountable, reflecting Nigeria’s unwavering dedication to sustainable and responsible practices.

The Nigerian delegation, led by President Tinubu, is set to actively explore forging new and profound bilateral partnerships during COP28.

These partnerships will play a pivotal role in implementing Nigeria’s ambitious Energy Transition, Article 6 Projects, Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes (ITMOs), Technology Transfer, Capacity Building, and Methane Mitigation.

Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale highlighted, “President Tinubu will not only participate in the main summit events but will also engage in key sideline events, reinforcing his commitment to attract foreign direct investment.
