N58 Billion Allocated For 20 New Road Projects Nationwide – FG

The Federal Government of Nigeria has earmarked a whopping N58 billion for the initiation of 20 novel road projects nationwide.

This allocation comes as part of the Federal Ministry of Works’ capital expenditure in the recently approved N2.17 trillion 2023 supplementary budget.

The government’s unwavering commitment to infrastructure development is underscored by the substantial allocation of N58 billion for the construction of 20 new road projects.

These projects span across all six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, revitalizing the nation’s road network and bolstering economic growth.

Amiobia-Ekwulobia-Mokwa Dualization (N10 Billion): This ambitious dualization project receives the highest allocation, promising enhanced connectivity and transportation efficiency.

Malando – Ngaski Wara Road (N8 Billion): This road construction initiative aims to improve accessibility in the region, fostering economic progress.

Public-Private Partnerships (PPP): Two of the 20 projects, the Abuja-Lagos Superhighway and the Lagos-Port Harcourt – Cross River Superhighway, will be executed under a PPP arrangement.

These ventures represent collaborative efforts between the government and private sector, demonstrating the commitment to innovative infrastructure development.

Each geopolitical zone in Nigeria will benefit from these transformative road projects:

Southeast:
Amiobia-Ekwulobia-Mokwa

Dualization (N10 Billion)

Ugep – Abaomege – Okposi Road (N2.5 Billion)

Enugu – Abakaliki – Ogoja

Dualization (N2.5 Billion)

Southwest:
Akure – Ilesha Dualization (N2.5 Billion)

Coker – Aguda/Itire/Ikate/Surulere

Township Roads (N2.5 Billion)

Ore – Shagamu Road (N2 Billion)

Ayegun – Oleyo Road (N1.5 Billion)

Other Projects:

Kano Northern Bypass (N2.5 Billion)

Buruku Bridge Construction in River

Benue (N2 Billion)

Bauchi-Gombe Road Construction (N2.5 Billion)

Bida – Zingiru Road (N2 Billion)
Obubara in Ebonyi – Cross River State Road (N3 Billion)

These infrastructure initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to modernizing transportation and fostering economic growth across Nigeria.
