In a remarkable breakthrough, troops from Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have made substantial headway in the investigation of the tragic murder of Ardo Adamu Gabdo, a respected Fulani leader in the serene community of Panyam, located within Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

As of the latest developments, three individuals are under detention by the vigilant OPSH forces.

These individuals are suspected of being involved in the heinous crime that claimed the life of Ardo Gabdo on September 23.

Maj.-Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar, the Commander of OPSH and General Officer Commanding 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, provided a comprehensive update during a recent meeting of stakeholders from Mangu Local Government Area in Jos.

He disclosed that a total of 12 suspects were initially apprehended and subjected to rigorous questioning.

However, following a meticulous and thorough investigation, nine of the individuals were subsequently released, while three remain in custody.

These detainees are proving instrumental in providing vital information that is helping authorities edge closer to identifying the actual culprits behind this reprehensible act.

Unwavering Commitment to Justice
Commander Abubakar has reaffirmed OPSH’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that all those responsible for this criminal act face justice.

He pledged, “I assure Plateau people that anyone involved in this criminal act will be arrested.” Abubakar also emphatically denied any allegations of torture of the suspects, emphasizing that such unprofessional conduct is not tolerated within his command.

It’s worth noting that OPSH has made substantial progress in addressing various security challenges in Plateau State.

In addition to the advancements in the murder investigation, the troops have made significant strides in curbing cattle rustling and armed robbery.

Recently, seven armed robbery suspects were apprehended, demonstrating OPSH’s continuous efforts to combat criminal activities in Plateau and its surrounding areas.

Commander Abubakar appealed to religious and community leaders, tribal groups, associations, and youth representatives to join hands with the military and other security agencies in fostering enduring peace throughout Plateau.

Their collective support is instrumental in ensuring the safety and tranquility of all communities in the region.

In this promising development, OPSH’s relentless pursuit of justice and security underscores their commitment to the well-being of Plateau State and its residents.

As investigations continue, the hope for closure in the tragic case of Ardo Adamu Gabdo’s murder grows stronger.
