Under the astute leadership of Adegoboyga Oyetola, the SDGs projects in Dagbolu-Osogbo and Iragbiji have seen remarkable progress.

These projects were not merely initiated but diligently completed, fully equipped, and inaugurated before the conclusion of his tenure.

The critical question emerges: Is it plausible to accuse an administration of abandonment when it has achieved the opposite?

One pivotal aspect of these projects was the establishment of Skills Acquisition Centres, strategically placed to empower the youth and enhance vocational skills.

After their inauguration, the Oyetola government, committed to efficient resource allocation, transferred the management of these centres to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

This proactive measure ensures that the facilities are utilized optimally for the betterment of the community.

The healthcare sector witnessed a substantial boost with the construction of hospitals as part of the SDGs projects.

Recognizing the importance of accessible healthcare, the Oyetola administration entrusted the hospitals to the capable hands of Osun State University Teaching Hospital.

This prudent decision ensures that quality healthcare services are readily available to the people of Osun.

It is essential to scrutinize the present administration’s actions regarding these projects.

Despite taking office in November 2022, they remained inactive for ten months before levying accusations of abandonment.

This delay raises questions about their commitment to governance and the welfare of Osun State.

One notable event that warrants attention is the reallocation of hospital equipment initially intended for Ila Orangun, Osun Central.

Surprisingly, these assets were moved to equip a hospital in Ede, Osun West. Such decisions inevitably raise concerns about the priorities of the present government.

The Iragbiji community’s role in this narrative cannot be understated. They displayed commendable dedication by providing security for the projects, ensuring their protection from potential looting.

Their generosity in offering land for these projects at no cost exemplifies the spirit of communal progress.
