Assassination Attempts Won’t Stop Me From Fighting Insecurity In Ogoniland -Topba

National leader of the Conscience of Ogoni People (COOP), Chief Gani Topba, has declared that assassination attempts on his life will not stop him from fighting against insecurity in Ogoniland of Rivers State.

Topba made the declaration while speaking at the monthly prayed meeting of Zaakpor community in Khana local government area of Rivers State.

Recall that the COOP leader and four others were attacked by unknown gunmen at Bori, headquarters of Khana local government area in March 2023.

The victims, riding in a private vehicle were attacked by gunmen riding on a motorcycle, who opened fire on the vehicle and took flight shortly after confirming that their target had been hit.

LEADERSHIP gathered that Topba’s visit to Zaakpor community, which is his hometown, was the first after the attack.

The COOP leader called on community leaders to continue to work for peace and security in Ogoniland.

He hailed Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara for his efforts towards advancing development in the state.
