NDLEA  Arrests 422 Suspects, Confiscate 999.335kg Of Illicit Drugs In  Jigawa

National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 419 suspected drug traffickers and abuser, also confiscate 999.335kg of illicit l drugs in Jigawa state between June 2022 to June 2023..

The Jigawa state NDLEA commandants Mr Mu”azu Aliyu Danmusa revealed this, ,while briefing newsmen on the command annuall performance review as part of the 2023 celebration of International Day Against Drugs abuse and Illicit trafficking.

He explained that, the command had successful secure the convictions of 94 suspects, while some are still before the court.

Mr Mu”azu noted that, beside arrest for Illicit drugs consumption or trafficking,the command is also providing counseling to drugs addicted. And in the year under review 15 of such victims were rehabilitated at Dutse rehabilitation Centre.

” Also as part of our war against drug abused we also embarked on public campaign to rise awereness on the menace off such habits, we are conducting the campaign at schools,Motor park, religious centres and other places of public gatherings across the state”.

” The Dutse NDLEA command”s commitment and resilient efforts in war against Drugs Abuse is making success and also is paying us back, by earning public confidence and commendation”

I” am using this opportunity to called on you media people, religious/political leaders , civil society and general public to join hands in this war against drugs abuse and Illicit trafficking to save our state and nation from loosing it’s potancial children, and tackle the crime’s committed under the influence of drugs abuse.” Mr Mu”azu stated

The commandant however commended Jigawa state Government for constituting State Drugs Regulatory Committee and other intervention which contribute to the achievement made in the war against drug abuse in the state.
