The Campaign which was organized by the Girls Rights Education Advancement Project (GREAP) mentees of the Foundation to Mark the international day tagged: Making Menstruation a Normal Fact of Life by 2030 was aimed at highlighting the importance of menstrual care and to raise awareness about the issues faced by those who don’t have access to sanitary products.

The Executive Director and Founder, Sarah Nathaniel said “there are myths that girls are fed with in the society about menstruation which are wrong.

She explained that the campaign was to promote their inalienable rights to education as provided in the Universal Declaration of Human rights”.

” The girls were taught about Menstruation, the importance of menstruation to every woman, how to maintain hygiene and what to do in case of abnormalities.

“The young adolescent girls, from the aged of 12-19 having undergone previous training were able to plan and organize the activity, stressing the foundation hopes that participants will be able to step down the knowledge gained to their peers and to also encourage youths participation in issues of development.” She maintained.
