Again, terrorists have reportedly killed 10 people, some still missing and four injured in another fresh attack in Langson community in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, prompting the people to ask for the removal of the military in the area who watched as their people were being killed.
The attack was coming barely 3 days after Ungwan Wakili was attacked, claiming 17 lives in the same Local Government Area.
The President of the Atyap Community Development Association (ACDA), Mr Sam Achie, who confirmed the incident said 10 dead bodies have been recovered while others are still missing.
The ACDA President, accused the military of complacency over the gruesome killing of the villagers in the land.
According to him, the military checkpoints in the Area are not doing anything to protect them from the attackers.
He explained that the attack in the village took place in between 3 military checkpoints but they couldn’t repel the attackers, rather, the military stop some youths from their neighbouring villages who wanted to come and render help.
“It is unfortunate that until the attackers finished their operations before the military allowed the youths,” he alleged.
“The military are sincerely not protecting us as they are deployed to do something different. We are calling on the authority concern to remove the military from the land.
“The carnage on Atyap communities was a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise the people for voting a leader of their choice in the coming Saturday’s election.
“There are ongoing plans to disenfranchise our people from participating in the Saturday’s election, adding Government silence over the attacks,” he said.
The ACDA National President commended the Mopol in Langson community who were said to have repelled the attackers, even as he called on the people to continue to remain on alert to protect their communities and properties against the oppressors who are bent on taking their ancestral land.
The Council Chairman, Zango Kataf Local Government, Mr. Francis Sani, while confirming the attack, appealed to the government to deploy more security to Zango Kataf Local Government Area to arrest the recurring attacks on innocent lives and property in the area.
It was gathered that the attackers invaded the community at around 9pm, shot sporadically, and also looted a shop in the area before they were repelled by the mobile police.
