A chieftian of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Princewill Dike, has said the reconciliation between former Governors Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and Celestine Omehia was for selfish purpose.

There has been no love lost between Amaechi and Omehia, who are indigenes of Ubima Community in Ikwerre local government area of the state, since the Supreme Court sacked the latter as governor on October 25, 2007.

Dike, who is also an indigene of Ubima Community, in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP Sunday, berated the duo for not attracting dividends of democracy to the community when they held sway as number one citizens of the state.

He therefore, appealed to the people of the community to vote for candidates of the PDP in tbe March 18, 2023 Governorship and National Assembly elections in the state.

The PDP chieftian said: “Tinubu won the Presidential election in Rivers State because Rivers PDP supported him. Rivers PDP candidates won the National Assembly election. Therefore, all Rivers PDP candidates will win the March 11th election.

“But one doesn’t need logic to discern that Rivers PDP will win seamlessly in the March 11th polls. I want my Ubima people to do like the children of Issachar, to understand the signs of the times and know the best course of action to take: that is voting PDP massively.*

“Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and Celestine Omehia have been primordial political foes. They didn’t reconcile when they would have been more useful to the Ubima. Now, like sinking men, looking for an available straw to hold on to, want Ubima people to sink with them. I call their reconciliation marriage of convenience, for selfish purpose.

“Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has shown sufficient love to Ubima. Look at these: Our dilapidated Community Secondary School, which Amaechi abandoned, was rebuilt by Gov. Wike to a Model Secondary School, which is an equivalent of Polytechnic.

“Upgraded our royal stool from second class to first class status. The Ozuoha-Ubima road project is ongoing, nearing completion.

“My beloved Ubima brethren, our mumu never do in the hands of Amaechi and Omehia? Abraham Lincoln of sweet memory posited that:

“You can fool all of the people some of time; you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time. Do you want these two expired politicians to continue fooling us? God forbid!*

“Rivers PDP will win. And I want Ubima to be factored in that victory, so they will have a say in Siminalayi Fubara’s government. So, come out in mass on Saturday the 11th of March 2023 to vote Rivers PDP candidates. Please.”
