INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu told the Ad hoc staff in Abuja when he visited the training center that their loyalty was for Nigeria and Nigerians.

Professor Yakubu told them that they are going to be deployed to the polling unit because that is the only place where Nigerians would exercise their franchise.

“You will handle the register, you will handle the Bimodal Accreditation System BVAS, you will also handle the result sheet at that level and you will also be responsible for transmitting the result to the IREV Portal on Election day”

He said the commission would train the Ad hoc staff with the physical manual, the soft manual, and the demonstration BVAS.

The INEC Chairman said the commission would monitor the activities of the corps members to prevent them from electoral malpractices.

“The moment you pick up this BVAS to configure it the front camera will take your picture for INEC to identify who is accrediting voters and who has been assigned to a particular unit. Don’t assign this machine to any other person.”

Professor Yakubu said the commission would also deploy technical staff that would either repair or replace the BVAS if it malfunction and maintained that the Ad-hoc staff would swear to an oath of neutrality before the election.

He said that the CBN Governor Mr Godwin Emefiele had assured the commission that they would give them all the support it needed to conduct successful polls.

After the tour, Professor Yakubu said that the commission would have Media Centre, INEC Situation Room and the main hall where collation and announcements of results would be made.

INEC Boss explained that the Presidential Candidates of various parties will sign a peace accord within the week .

On the reported protests in some parts of the country, Professor Yakubu said they are working with various security agencies to safe guide lives and property.
