Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cable Media and Publishing Limited, Simon Kolawole, will deliver a public lecture on ethical leadership and anti-corruption measures at activities marking the 80th birthday of former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Kanu Agabi.
The lecture is scheduled to hold on Thursday, September 24, in Abuja.
Kolawole will speak on the theme, “Prioritising Ethical Conduct and Anti-Corruption Measures in Governance in Nigeria.”
The event is being organised by Agabi’s colleagues and friends as part of activities to mark his 80th birthday.
In a statement, the Chairman of the planning committee, Peter Akper, and the Secretary, Oyetola Atoyebi, said the lecture would focus on strengthening ethical leadership and combating corruption in the country.
“The lecture is expected to interrogate ethical leadership and practical anti-corruption strategies required to strengthen governance, public accountability, and trust in institutions in Nigeria,” the organisers said.
The organisers described Agabi as a statesman and jurist whose career had been defined by “integrity, service to the nation, and commitment to the rule of law”.
The lecture is expected to attract members of the bench and bar, public office holders, civil society organisations, academics and other stakeholders.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan will chair the event.
The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, is expected to attend as the special guest of honour.
Agabi, a former AGF and Minister of Justice, clocked 80 on July 9, 2026.
The lecture is expected to form part of the activities celebrating his decades of service to Nigeria and the legal profession.
