Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State have unanimously affirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement exercise, held on Saturday across all 255 political wards in the state’s 23 local government areas, drew a large turnout of party members and stakeholders. Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and designated party representatives monitored the process to ensure compliance with electoral guidelines.
From the Southern, Central, and Northern Senatorial Districts, APC faithful turned out in significant numbers to reaffirm their confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and endorse him for a second term.
Governor Senator Uba Sani, who monitored parts of the exercise personally, commended party leaders and members for the orderly conduct and impressive turnout. He described the affirmation as a powerful demonstration of unity, loyalty, and confidence in both the APC and the President.
“Today’s overwhelming affirmation across all 255 wards is a clear reflection of the confidence our party members and the people have in President Tinubu’s leadership. The unity, discipline, and turnout demonstrate the APC’s strength and readiness ahead of 2027. We remain committed to consolidating the gains of this administration and sustaining purposeful leadership for Nigeria’s progress and stability,” Governor Sani said.
He urged party members to remain steadfast and focused on strengthening the party’s structures and mobilisation efforts ahead of the general election.
The exercise concluded peacefully amid enthusiastic participation, signalling growing internal cohesion and a renewed commitment to continuity at the national level.
Collation of results is now under way across all voting areas, with local government collation officers compiling returns for transmission to the Kaduna State Coordinator and Chief Collation Officer, Governor Sani. The final result is expected to be formally presented to the APC Presidential Primary Committee in Abuja during the scheduled announcement on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
