The Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Sunday Marshall Katung, and the lawmaker for Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Daniel Amos, have officially submitted their Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The submission took place on Tuesday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, with Katung accompanied by his Campaign Council Chairman, Engr. Joseph A. Ciroma.

Speaking after the exercise, Katung said his re-election bid aims to “complete the mission of peace, development, and effective representation” for Southern Kaduna.

Amos described the joint submission as a strategic move to bolster party unity and strengthen the APC’s structure across the zone. Party stakeholders have interpreted the coordinated action as a clear sign of cohesion within the Kaduna South APC amid rising pre-primary political activity.

In a statement, Amos noted that the submission “goes beyond procedural requirements,” representing a renewed pledge to responsive governance, grassroots engagement, and people-centred representation.

“I, alongside Distinguished Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, have taken a defining step in the democratic process,” Amos said, adding that their collective ambition rests on sustaining ongoing development and expanding direct constituent interventions.

Katung reaffirmed his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, stressing that the APC remains the most viable platform to guarantee stability and attract federal presence to the district.

“With these forms submitted, the real work to return Southern Kaduna to the path of progress begins,” the senator said.

Observers believe the early move by both lawmakers could reshape political alignments within the party as consultations intensify ahead of the APC primaries.
