Five aspirants have purchased governorship nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the party’s primaries in Abia State.
Sources within the party confirmed to our correspondent on Monday that the development signals early jostling for the APC ticket in the state.
Those who have obtained the forms include Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu, Chief Henry Ikoh, Hon. Martin Azubuike, Hon. Benjamin O. Kalu, and Eric Opiah.
Party insiders said the purchase of the forms marks the beginning of intensified political activities as aspirants position themselves for the contest.
It was further gathered that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, also secured a nomination form to contest the Bende Federal Constituency seat.
Efforts to get official confirmation from the party leadership were ongoing as of the time of filing this report.
