Barcelona Femení have secured their seventh consecutive Spanish league title with a commanding 4–1 victory over local rivals Espanyol in Wednesday’s Catalan derby.
The win, which crowned Barça champions with four matches remaining, underscores their continued dominance in Spanish women’s football. Teenage Norwegian forward Martine Fenger scored twice, while Caroline Graham Hansen and Carla Julia added further goals to seal the triumph.
This marks Barcelona’s 11th league title overall. Their campaign has been nearly flawless, with 25 wins from 26 matches – the sole blemish a November defeat to Real Sociedad.
Real Madrid trail by 16 points in second place, though they hold a game in hand.
Treble Ambitions Remain Intact
Barcelona remain on course for a historic treble. They face Bayern Munich in the Women’s Champions League semi-finals and have already booked their place in the Copa de la Reina final, where they will meet Atlético Madrid on 16 May.
