As the world marks the 2026 International Women’s Day, the Caleb Danladi Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women and advancing girl-child education through targeted initiatives aimed at promoting digital inclusion and equal opportunities.
Speaking in commemoration of the global celebration, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Capt. Caleb Danladi, PhD, highlighted the importance of this year’s theme, “Rights, Justice and Action for All Women and Girls,” describing it as timely and highly relevant in addressing the persistent challenges faced by women and girls across many communities.
According to him, the theme serves as a strong reminder that achieving gender equality requires not only recognition of women’s rights but also deliberate actions that ensure fairness, justice, and equal access to opportunities.
“This year’s theme, Rights, Justice and Action for All Women and Girls, is both timely and necessary. It calls on governments, institutions, and communities to move beyond promises and take concrete steps that guarantee equal rights, justice, and opportunities for women and girls everywhere,” he stated.
As part of its commitment to advancing women’s empowerment, Capt. Danladi announced that the Foundation will train 500 women on digital literacy across selected communities.
The program is designed to equip women with essential digital skills that will enable them to participate effectively in the digital economy and improve their livelihoods.

He noted that in today’s technology-driven world, digital literacy has become a vital tool for economic empowerment and social inclusion.
“Empowering women with digital skills is a critical step toward closing the gender gap in technology and ensuring that women are not left behind in the rapidly evolving digital economy,” he said.
The digital literacy training will cover basic computer knowledge, internet usage, digital communication, online entrepreneurship, and safe use of digital platforms, with particular focus on women in underserved and rural communities.
In addition to the digital skills initiative, the Foundation will continue to strengthen its support for girl-child education, recognizing that education remains one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty and inequality.
Capt. Danladi emphasized that investing in the education of girls creates lasting impacts not only for families but also for communities and national development.
“When we educate and empower girls, we are investing in the future of our society.
Our Foundation remains committed to supporting initiatives that ensure girls have access to quality education and the opportunity to reach their full potential,” he added.
He further called on government institutions, private organizations, and development partners to collaborate in creating more opportunities for women and girls through education, mentorship, and capacity-building initiatives.
International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8, highlights the achievements of women while advocating for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls worldwide.
