Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has strongly condemned the brutal murder of a woman and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters of Kano metropolis on Saturday, labelling the incident as barbaric and a severe violation of human dignity.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, the governor expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the residents of Dorayi Chiranchi, and the entire populace of Kano State.
Governor Yusuf described the killing of a mother and her innocent children as utterly unacceptable and vowed that his administration would ensure that those responsible face justice. He has directed the Kano State Police Command to immediately initiate a manhunt for the perpetrators, emphasising that anyone found culpable will face the full force of the law.
“The government will not allow such a heinous crime to go unpunished,” the governor stated.
To prevent a recurrence of such incidents, Governor Yusuf has also instructed the Kano Neighborhood Corps to enhance patrols and community surveillance, particularly in vulnerable areas throughout the state.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to bolstering grassroots security and safeguarding lives and property, highlighting the need for continued collaboration with security agencies to maintain peace and order.
The governor urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security forces by providing valuable information to assist ongoing investigations. He encouraged the public to promptly report any suspicious movements or activities in their communities.
In his prayers, Governor Yusuf sought solace for the souls of the deceased and asked Allah to grant their family the strength to endure such a profound loss.
Elanza News reported that unknown assailants fatally attacked 35-year-old Fatima Abubakar and her six children during a brutal assault on their home in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters of Kano metropolis on Saturday.
