3 killed as multiple bomb blasts rock Niger State

Three persons have died in a series of bomb explosions in Bassa community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

Five others sustained injury in the tragic incidents has left behind a trail of death and destruction.

The Council Chairman of Shiroro Local Government, Akilu Kuta, confirmed the incident to Channels Television via a telephone call from Minna, the state capital.

He revealed that the first blast occurred around 8:30 am, followed by another explosion just minutes later, resulting in the deaths of two persons.

The third and final blast was said to have taken place around 3:30 pm in the Tudun Baturia area of Bassa community, claiming one life.

In the aftermath of the blasts, victims were rushed to Kuta General Hospital for initial treatment, before being transferred to the IBB Specialist Hospital for secondary treatment.

Channels Television gathered that one victim was receiving medical attention at Kuta General Hospital.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving residents in a state of fear and uncertainty.

Authorities have yet to release a statement on the cause of the blasts or the identity of those responsible.
