A new political Party, Team New Nigeria (TNN), has unveiled its symbols and reaffirmed its readiness to establish a government to liberate Nigerians from the current hardships and insecurity threats the country experiences.
Speaking at the weekend, during the formal public presentation of the symbol and inauguration of state harmonisation committees at the Kano Pillars Stadium, TNN’s president, Modibbo Farakwai, said the Party’s motto is ‘Unite and Rebuild the Nation’, with the slogan ‘Greater Nigeria’.
He also said the Party flag should be Green, White (with an image of hands held together in the centre), and Red, with TNN emblazoned below it in White on a Black Background Pane.
According to him, the Green means growth, responsibility, and sacrifice; the white means peace, redemption, and unity; the red means solidarity, courage, and love; and the black means emancipation, justice, and honour.
Farakwai also initiated the state harmonisation, structure and mobilisation committee for the seven states in the North-West Zone: Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kaduna, Jigawa, Sokoto and Zamfara who will exercise all state administrative powers, responsibilities and functions.
He said they should also constitute a 13-man Steering Committee for each of the state’s Local Government Areas and ensure massive mobilisation, coordination, and implementation of registration for prospective members into TNN.
While lamenting the hardship and the rise in insecurity, especially in the northwest region led by the APC government, the TNN president noted that they are ready to establish a political party, having attained a registration of 43 million members.
He said the new party is ready to change the country’s current situation, promote human rights, and establish a government based on freedom and sound governance principles.
In his welcome remarks, TNN national chairman Prof Garba Waziri said the committee set-up would help strengthen their political structure, especially at the grassroots, to ensure their participation in decision-making.
Therefore, he urged them to lead with integrity and promote peace and unity for the common good of all, forming a united front and delivering the country.
