Senator Shehu Sani has described the growing political alignment between Kaduna’s northern and southern regions as a historic development, signaling a new chapter in the state’s politics.

Speaking shortly after a visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa alongside Kaduna South Senator Sunday Marshall Katung and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, Sani highlighted that the shift represents a break from decades of entrenched regional political divides.

“Since 1999, the northern part of Kaduna largely aligned with parties such as CPC and APC, while the South charted a different path. But for the first time in the state’s history, we are witnessing the Muslim North and the Christian South moving together with a shared political vision,” he said.

Sani attributed the development to deliberate interventions by the Federal Government and proactive leadership at the state level.

He said these efforts have fostered inclusion, balanced representation, and strengthened unity across Kaduna.

“The people of Kaduna can now proudly say they are united and determined to move forward together. The state has been given a new lease of life through purposeful leadership and renewed political will,” Sani added.

He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his role in supporting initiatives that promote peace, stability, and development in the state.

“We assure Mr. President that the people of Kaduna are committed to sustaining this progress and building on the factors that made this achievement possible,” he said.

Political analysts say this emerging alignment could reshape Kaduna’s electoral dynamics in the coming years, signaling a potential model of inclusion for other divided states across the country.
