The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, is confident about his re-election, asserting that the 2027 election will be easier for him than previous contests.

Speaking at the 2025 Aro Day event in the Arochukwu Local Government Area, Otti expressed that he is untroubled by the 2027 polls, as his administration’s achievements since taking office in Abia State will provide him with a smoother journey.

He noted that he would not be making empty promises to the populace but rather focusing on what they can already observe for themselves.

“Just as it was in 2023, I can assure you that 2027 will be even smoother. Why am I so confident? Because in 2023, we were selling promises, but now there are tangible results we can point to,” he stated.

Otti emphasised that many individuals are already stressing over the 2027 elections, despite it being some time away.

“2027 is still a long way off, yet many are causing themselves undue stress before it arrives.

“We are not concerned about 2027 because we have a mandate to fulfil over the next four years. We’ve completed 30 months, so there is still plenty of time ahead,” Otti remarked.

In his address, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, praised Otti’s accomplishments, stating that even beyond Abia and Nigeria, people have recognised the significant transformation seen during Otti’s administration over the past two years.

“I would like to congratulate Dr Otti for all the work he has done in Abia. For those of you in Abia, you don’t need to be told. But it’s worth noting that even beyond Abia and Nigeria, everyone has acknowledged the remarkable changes of the last two years.

“I would like to congratulate Governor Otti for his efforts and pray that he continues to deliver for the people. I’m proud to be a member of his international economic advisory board,” he concluded.
