One year after the unfortunate attack on Zunuruk community, in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna state, the community has organized an interdenominational Memorial service in honor of survivors and those who lost their lives during the attack.
The event which was held at Ecwa Church Zunuruk on Sunday, saw representatives of the community praying for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and solicited the support of government to support the victims of the attack, especially the widows who are finding it difficult to fend for their families.
In a message of encouragement to the community vie the internet, the Executive Director, International Committee on Nigeria, Kyle Abts and the founding board member with ICON, Ann Abts, identified with the community and urged them to forgive those who have committed the heinous act.
Also speaking, the Executive Director, Sports Friends, a missionary group, Mr. Ishaya Inuwa who was also on ground to witness the memorial, encouraged the community not to lose hope, but continue to seek for genuine opportunities to put the event behind them.
Earlier, the community leader, Dr. Habu Duwai and the youth leader in Zunuruk, Zaka Swanta thanked all those who identified with the community after the unfortunate attack last year and prayed God to replenish their purse.
Elanza News reports that a football match was played between members of different denominations in the community to promote peace and unity amongst them.
