Zango Kataf Attack: NEMA Flags Off Distribution Of Building Materials Facilitated By Rep Member

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has over the weekend flagged off distribution of building
materials and motorcycles to 281 households who were victims of gunmen attacks.

The items which were facilitated by the member representing Zango/Jaba federal constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji, was to ameliorate the sufferings of the victims attacked by suspected Fulani militias.

The zonal coordinator of the agency, Abbani Imam Garki said they are in Zango Kataf as representative of the
federal government to present relief materials to victims who were affected by attacks that claimed many lives and
properties worth millions of
naira.

According to him the agency had earlier distributed food items and other important items to over 800 households in Zonkwa and now the agency is distributing building materials to 281 households to assist them in rebuilding their houses destroyed during the
attacks.

He maintained that the items given to the victims was not to replace what they have lost but to show federal government’s concern, and prayed for normalcy to return and urged the people to give peace a chance for development to thrive in the region.

The Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency SEMA, Mal. Abubakar Hassan said the State Government has been up and doing in upscaling it’s activities around the State Sandy we are here to support the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, in the distribution of these items to the affected persons.

He emplored the recipients to ensure the best use of the items and work toward harmonious peaceful co-existence in the area.

The Federal lawmaker, Amos Gwamna Magaji while fielding questions from Journalists shortly after the flagged off, commended the DG of NEMA for his concern toward the plights of his people.

” Through the help of the new DG of the Agency, we are able to provide food and clothing to those affected by the carnage, and we have now also received building materials.

” With these building materials, I believe some can be able to rebuild their destroyed houses, resettle back to their homes and continue with their normal activities,” Amos said.

While commenting on the impact of the previous peace summits and peace pacts held at Atyap land by diverse groups, the Paramount Chief of Atyap Chiefdom, Mr. Dominic Gambo Yahaya noted that the land is reaping the fruits of the previous peace summits that took place.

He explained that the situation has been calm for now, adding attacks, killings use to be on a weekly basis but for some Months now we have not recorded any further attack except that of Gora Gan we experienced on the first week of December.

Some of the victims who expressed satisfaction and commended the rep member for a credible representation, prayed to God to shield him for more humanitarian services.

LEADERSHIP reports that the items distributed includes; 681 boundless of roofing sheet, 681 bags of Cement, 454 packets of Zinc nails, 227 bags of 3″ nails and 1,139 Pieces of ceiling boards
