Yuletide: Nasaarawa Senator Greet Christians, Commissions Solar Lights

In the spirit of the Yuletide season, the senator representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, have felicitated with Christians as they celebrate Christmas.

Senator Al-Makura, urged Christian’s in the state to exhibit love, which is the reason for Christmas celebration.

Senator Al-Makura in a statement, prayed for a fruitful and successful year 2021, as he urged his constituents to remain peaceful with one another.

Meanwhile, Senator Almakura has commissioned solar power electricity in some communities and public boarding schools across the five local government areas of the zone.

Senator Tanko Almakura, represented by Ambassador Designate, Henry Omaku stated that the initiative to provide solar power electricity in the communities was borne out of his desire to give people at rural areas some sense of belonging.

Al-Makura, called on the benefitting communities to take ownership of the project to serve the purpose it was meant for.

Responding, the Osoho of Olosoho Dr. Umar Abubakar Apeshi, said Senator Almakura has done enough to the people of his zone especially provision of boreholes, construction of schools and installation of solar street lights among others.

Also speaking separately, Sarkin Arikya, Alhaji Usman Babba, Ahmed Mohammed Salihu Iyan Azara, Yahaya Aku district head of Adudu, all applauded the forsight of senator Umaru Almakura for impacting positively on their lives.

Principal, Federal Government Girls College Keana Hajiya Aishatu Muhammed who is also a beneficiary of the project said the solar power electricity would go a long way in addressing epileptic power supply and check insecurity in the school.

The benefitting communities and schools are Azara, Adudu, Agwatashi, Arikya, GGSS Keana and GGSS Doma.

The benefitting communities who couldn’t hide their joy thanked Senator Almakura, for the gesture and called on other elected and appointed representatives to emulate him.
