Against the expectations of mischief makers that the decamping of Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disorganised former governor Abdulaziz’s camp, such has been debunked.
The coordinator of the APC aspirants forum, Hon Bashir Muhammed Dala, who debunked such insinuations said even with the size of the elephant, the lion still remains the king of the jungle.
He said AbdulAziz Yari is ranked above Matawalle going by the wide followership the former governor enjoy both in Zamfara and at the national level.
“As such, no shortsighted APC stakeholder would risk the leadership of the party to him. Politically, anybody or anyone has the right to cross carpet to any party if the person feels secured in the new political constituency.
“Presently, our focus in the Yari camp is on how to deliver Zamfara state to APC in 2023 and not mediocrity. The difference is clear between our principal and whoever that is coming going by our structure and followership. Both President Buhari and the entire APC leadership knows what Yari is a true democrat and accomplished grassroot politician. There is no gain saying that Yari is not afraid of anyone no matter how highly placed decamping to the party he helped build,” Dala said.
According to him, party interest in the state matters alot adding, “This is a clarion call on all Yari supporters to continue with their secret campaigns among delegates and party followers to make Yari our national chairman Insha Allah, ” Dala added.
