Today, makes it exactly 27 years since Nigeria witnessed a remarkable moment as what can be described as the best Presidential elections to usher in a democratic dispensation turned sour.
Chief M.K.O Abiola was widely believed and acknowledged winner of the June 12 elections.
The current Pillar of sports and man who took over from the late siage, Chief Donatus Ejidike has eulogized the man who was so loved by Nigerians.
He said that Chief MKO Abiola led one of the greatest Presidential campaigns in Nigeria’s history, that centred round ‘Hope’ for a Nation that was in despair.
He harped on Abiola’s brand that was accepted across tribal and religious divides.
According to him, “Abiola remains a Democratic Icon in Nigeria and will be remembered for his contributions to sports development beyond the shores of Nigeria”.
