President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday swore in five newly appointed permanent secretaries to fill existing vacancies in the federal civil service.
The brief ceremony, held at the State House, Abuja, took place before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the President.
The new permanent secretaries are Abdulkarim Ibrahim (North Central), Dr John Ezeamama, Dr Abdul Sule Garba (North West), Dr Ishiyaku Mohammed (North East) and Dr Ukaire Binyerem Chigbowu (South East).
The President subsequently administered the oath of office to them.
Mr Tinubu also swore in the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Aminu Yusuf, as well as two other commissioners.
A minute of silence was observed for the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Joy Ogwu, who died on October 13 at 79.
