At least ten members of the ‘Batch B’ Stream one of the National Youth Service Corps will repeat their service in Kano State.

This is contained in a statement by the National Youth Service Corps State Coordinator, Hajia Aisha Tata on Thursday, 28th May, 2020 during the presentation of certificate to the passing out corps members in the state which was conducted under strict adherence to covid-19 protocol.

According to Tata, “‘the affected corps members are to repeat the service for absconding from their Places of Primary Assignment (PPA).

She added that another nine corps members were given service extension from two to three months for various offences.

“I wish to inform you that since the issue of COVID-19 in Kano, no single case was recorded among the corps members in this state.

“The corps members complied with the stay-at-home directives, and maintained personal and environmental hygiene, which are the major preventive measures,

“she said She, therefore, advised the outgoing corps members to make maximum utilisation of the skills they acquired during the service year, so that they could be self reliant.

The coordinator noted that the scheme had made all necessary arrangements with security agencies and commercial transportation unions, aimed at ensuring that all the completing corps members arrived at their various destinations safely.
