The Taraba Integrity and Good Governance Group (TIGG) has issued a statement clarifying recent allegations involving student Miss Adda Manga, Mr. George Sabo Adi, and Mr. Hinkon Yusuf Garsheya.
In the statement signed by Comrade Ezra Yusuf Tanko
Chairman, Taraba Integrity and Good Governance Group, the group emphasized that Mr. Adi’s support for Miss Manga was purely humanitarian and predates Governor Agbu Kefas’s administration. Records confirm that he privately sponsored her education at Kwararafa University from IJMB through 300 level in Mass Communication, with no connection to any government scholarship program.
TIGG stressed that portraying the case as a “withheld scholarship” is misleading. The support was withdrawn due to repeated concerns over the student’s conduct, including unverified social media claims against public officials. The group also condemned viral social media posts falsely suggesting a personal relationship between the student and the Governor, describing them as capable of causing public misunderstanding.
The statement further clarified that allegations of religious bias against Mr. Adi are unfounded. Similarly, the group noted that Mr. Garsheya, a serving police officer, shared a one-sided narrative on social media without verification, which fell short of expected professional standards.
TIGG also confirmed that claims of assault or conspiracy against Mr. Adi remain unsubstantiated, noting that he responded to a police invitation lawfully and civilly.
The group called on media, civil society, and the public to exercise restraint, verify facts, and avoid amplifying unverified claims. TIGG reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, fairness, and support for impartial investigations by relevant authorities.
