Villagers in the Southern Part of Kaduna State has apprehended five persons suspected to be part of the gunmen that attacked Matsirga community in Madakiya, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.
The attackers had on Tuesday night, killed two people leaving others with injuries. The injured ones are now receiving treatment at a hospital.
The attackers who were said to have invaded Matsirga at about 9:30pm on Tuesday night, killed a 37-year-old Ishaku Kayit and Mrs Laraba Alaska.
But Elanza News gathered that immidiately after the attack, the villagers mobilised themselves into the bushes in search of the marauders and apprehended five Fulani Herdsmen around Malagum village.
The suspects were said to have been taken to the Police Divisional Headquarters in Zonkwa for interrogation.
When contacted, The Executive Chairman, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Dr Alias Manza, said the Police are only trying to find out whether the five people apprehended are in connection with the attack or not.
He said there was no certainty about the identity of the suspects but added that those arrested have since been moved to the Kafanchan Police headquarters for more interrogation.
Effort to get across to the new Kaduna State Police spokesman proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
