Though JONAPWD through their state Chairman, Mu’azu Habibu, and Secretary, Mukhtari Sani Doki, admitted that Sokoto state government is concerned about them, they however added that, their
inclusion in the upcoming government appointments will uphold their rights as guaranteed by the discrimination against persons with disabilities act.

While noting the decision to recruit 3000 youths into the state civil service was a welcome development, JONAPWD said that will reduce unemployment and empower youths across the state.

In their plea for employment consideration, JONAPWD urged the Sokoto state government to consider the 5 percent special consideration for those with special needs in line with the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act 2018.

Justifying their request, JONAPWD affirmed that they have qualified candidates capable of contributing meaningfully to the state civil service, adding inclusion would therefore confirms the state’s  commitnent towards  equity, fairness and inclusive governance.
