BY ISRAEL BULUS, KADUNA
On behalf of the entire people of Southern Kaduna, home and abroad, the leadership of Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) deeply mourns the untimely demise of one of its member of the National Executive Council (NEC), Dr. Silas Adamu and his wife, Mrs Mercy Adamu, and daughter Miss Joy Kubai Adamu, yesterday in a ghastly motor accident along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.
Dr.Silas who was the President of Atyap Community Development Association (ACDA) was a man who spent most part of his adult life as a unionists, fighting for the rights and better welfare of the workers he represented. Rising to the rank of Secretary General of Medical and Health Union of Nigeria (MHUN), Dr Silas contested and won the last ACDA national elections to emerge as its President last December.
SOKAPU remembers the late ‘Stuu’ (an alias for which he was better known) for his relentless effort for a secured and peaceful Atyap Chiefdom which had lately been engulfed in wanton violence. It was a project which he committed a lot of his time and personal resources.
We deeply regret this huge loss to Southern Kaduna, Kaduna state and Nigeria in general.
Our condolence goes to his immediate family, the Agwa Tyap, Sir Dominic Yahaya, the Atyap Chiefdom, members of MHWUN and all those who dearly loved him.
May God grant us the fortitude to bear this grieve and may the Almighty provide for and guide those he left behind.
May may their souls Rest in Peace, Amen
