Super Eagles defender, Oluwasemilogo Ajayi this evening joined the bandwagon of Nigerian players to gain promotion to top flight European football after his club West Bromwich Albion joined champions, Leeds United in picking the second automatic promotion ticket to the English premier league just days after Kelechi Nwakali and Simy Nwankwo celebrated the promotion of Huesca and Crotone to the La Liga and Serie A respectively.

West Bromwich Albion gained automatic promotion to the premier league following a dramatic 2-2 draw against QPR in the final game of the season at the Hawthorns.

The Slaven Bilic led side finished the season with 83 points, 10 points adrift of champions, Leeds United.

Ajayi thus join the illustrious list of Nigerian players to play for West Brom in the English premier league. Others are Nwankwo Kanu, Ifeanyi Udeze and Osaze Odemwingie.
