A Canadian-based chieftian of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Korka-Waadah, has berated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, for alleging that former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, was part of the presidential cabal punishing Nigerians with currency redesign and fuel scarcity crisis.

The PDP, had in a statement signed by the spokesman of the Consolidation for New Rivers Vision Campaign Council, Hon. Ogbonna Nwuke, alleged that Amaechi was part of the cabal aggravating the suffering of Nigerians.

Nwuke said: “Amaechi is part of the cabal that has tormented innocent and hardworking Nigerians. Amaechi who recently reconciled with the PDP’s Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State has been secretly working with the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and others in the cabal to starve Nigerians of much needed funds in the name of politics.”

But, Korka-Waadah, in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP in Port Harcourt yesterday, described the allegation as sheer falsehood and blackmail.

The APC chieftain said: “It is quite unfortunate that a highly respected journalist would craft such a message of attack on the person of Amaechi, even when he knows they are blatant falsehood.

“Given the opportunity, he wouldn’t be able to provide evidence. Anyway, at this time in the game one would expect the PDP in the state to throw all manner of dirt at any one they perceive to be responsible for their failure. Even when those aren’t true.

“Amaechi is the leader of APC in the state and the South South. No one in his right mind would accuse him of sitting at the table with the PDP to plan the downfall of their party in the state. The truth is that Rivers people have seen through the cracks.

“They do not want a continuation of Wike’s regime. I will advise them to seek ways to put their sinking house together instead of pointing accusing fingers at someone who is not responsible for the misfortune of their party in the state. Leave Amaechi out of this.”
