Ahead of the January 25, 2020 House of Assembly re-run elections in Sanga and Kagarko Local governments, t the newly elected National Youth Coordinator of the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU) has tasked the youth to be civil in their conduct before, during and after the elections.
Mr Isaac John, stated this in a statement he personally signed and issued to Journalists in Kaduna.
He asked the Youth in the constituencies not to boycott the election, but that they should come out and vote candidates of their choice in manner that would not depict violence.
The incoming youth leader said: “It is important we drum it into our ears now for us to remain civil in the way we behave in order not to incur the wrath of others.
“The lessons of what happened in some parts of the regions during the last election ought to guide us.
“We cannot afford to engage others to fight. That is uncalled for because election will come and go.
“There is every need for us to maintain peace in our various domain during and after the election,” he said.
John said as critical stakeholders in Southern Kaduna, it would not speak well the Youth are part of those that would caused violence that will lead to destruction of lives and property.
Isaac also said the youth must follow due process in seeking redress of perceived wrong doing, urging the people not to take the law into their hands.
