Lagos State Government says it will continue repair works on the Third Mainland Bridge, being carried out by the Federal Ministry of Works, on Tuesday Jan. 9, 2024.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Seun Osiyemi, said this in a statement on Friday in Lagos.

Osiyemi said that the Federal Ministry of Works would continue with the closure of Iyana Oworonshoki-Adeniji- Adele bound for effective repairs of the entire section of the bridge.

“This closure is part of the on-going work which commenced in November, focusing on fixing of ramps among others.

“However, to ease the burden of commuting, the following arrangements have been made.

“From 12 a.m. to 12 noon; the bridge is open for Mainland in-bound Island travels while motorists from the Island to the Mainland are advised to use Eko Bridge.

“Conversely, from 12 noon to 12 p.m, motorists will be able to access the bridge from the Island to the Mainland.

“Also, motorists from the Mainland heading toward the Island will have to use Eko Bridge,” Osiyemi said.

He said that the timings had been scheduled to match the peak period flow of traffic and reduce travel stress.

Osiyemi urged residents to cooperate with the traffic management team while thanking motorists for their understanding and cooperation with the authorities. (NAN)
