Rain Destroys Multi-billion Nasarawa Industrial Park Commission By Buhari

The rain that has started falling in some parts of Nasarawa State has destroyed the much-talked-about Multi-billion naira Karu Industrial Park Commission in Karu LGA Area of Nasarawa State commission by President Muhammadu Buhari recently.

Elanza News reports that the Karu Industrial park, which residents say cosmetic work was done to allow President Muhammadu Buhari to Commission the place, cannot withstand the rains as a result of poor construction.
On February 24,2022, President Muhammadu Buhari embarked on a two day visit to Nasarawa State to commission some projects executed by the state governor, Abdullahi Sule.
Among the projects commissioned by the President is the Karu Industrial Park located in Mararaba Gurku, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Elanza News gathered that the work at the industrial park was not done well, and now faces destruction by rain just about two months after it was commissioned.
A driver at the park, Hassan, told Elanza News that the government officials did a shabby job just to make money for themselves.

He said as drivers, they don’t have offices inside the park because they can’t afford it.
“How will you build something for the poor people and you are putting office rent at N1.4 million? Who can afford to pay for that kind of office? As you can see, we are outside and most times, we sleep inside our vehicles,” he said.
Another driver at the park, Mohammed, told Elanza News that the first rain that dropped in the area destroyed the shed where they normally park their cars, adding that the second rain did the same and the aluminum zinc and some iron rods were parked to one side.

“Is this how this park will go? It is obvious that the project was not done well because every rain that fell destroys part of the park and no one is fixing it.

“This is happening just about two months after President Muhammadu Buhari came to commission this project. It is obvious that this park is gone again because the project was not done well and there are no repairs when part of it is destroyed” Mohammed added.
