Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police have arrested a 28-year-old Timothy Emmanuel, from Plateau State, in B.A.D road in Lafia Local Government Area, for impersonating as military officer.
Also paraded were 60 other criminals who were arrested at different times in some locations for various offences in the state.
The Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, CP Adesina Soyemi, disclosed this while parading the suspects at the Police, headquarters along Shendam road in Lafia.
He said the fake military officer Timothy Emmanuel, was arrested with military camouflage, in possession of AK 49 rifle with two magazines driving a blackToyota Corolla, with registration number ABUJA, BWR 973 CD.
Some of the criminals also arrested were Abimiku Murtala Lucky Ovey, 22, a 100 level computer science student of Federal University of Lafia, Okoli Bright, 25, also a 100 level political science student of University of Jos and two students of Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia, who are members of Black Axe confraternity.
A summary of those arrested shows that 16 were kidnappers, 18 cultists, 13 armed robbers, 7 rail track vandals, 7 internet fraudsters.
Items recovered includes 5 fire arms, 5 handsets, 4 ammunition, 4 trucks/vehicles, 2 magazines and one laptop computer.
CP Soyemi, appealed to the People of the State to be more supportive to the Police, in discharge of their statutory duty, by availing them with credible information that will help to proactively neutralized or deal with matters of security in the State.
