The National Association of Nigerian Professional Footballers ( NANPF), has commended Super Eagles and Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Uche Agbo for his philanthrophic gesture to a kidney patient, Magdalene Maxwell.
A statement signed by the President of NANPF, Tijani Babangida, MON, described Agbo’s action as compassionate and worthy of emulation. He added that the players’union are very proud of his laudable move to save the life of the young Nigerian lady
” We, as members of the players union, are indeed, happy and proud of Uche Agbo. He has shown uncommon love and compassion for humanity. Which is part of the ethos we are preaching at NANPF. He is a true ambassador for what we stand for as a union.
Uche Agbo reportedly learnt about the terminal ailment of the 21 years old Magdalene Maxwell, an indigene of Nasarawa state on the social media. She has been down with kidney problems that required the sum of three million and five hundred thousand naira (N3.5m) for a permanent surgery.
Touched by her failing health and need for urgent financial assistance, the soccer star promptly send her the required amount for the operation.
