The Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship Nigeria, Kaduna State Chapter, Apostle Emmanuel Bako has called for the peaceful conduct of the Saturday’s council elections across the State.
In a statement obtained by PUNCH on Friday 3rd September,2021, the cleric, said the joy of democracy was that it allows citizens to participate in the political processes. One of the ways is through the regular choice (elections) of individuals who will steer the political ship to safe destination.
” Another thing that has made democracy very unique was its ability to accommodate diverse interests and views in the forms of parties and candidates.
“Therefore, as we make the choice of who will take charge of our LGAs/Wards, I call on everyone to act with great sense of civility knowing that election is not war. Let’s shun violence in whatever form.
He exhort all aspirants to eschew divisive politics by avoiding inflammatory statements before, during and after the polls, adding let the spirit of true sportsmanship be imbibed by all.
“My final prayer was that may we have a hitch-free local government elections and may God give us leaders after His own heart.” Bako prayed.
