PDP Chairmanship Candidate Decries Incessant Killings In Zango Kataf LG

A Chairmanship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Hon Francis Sani has condemned in strong terms the continues unabated killings in the LG.

Zimbo expressed his concerned in a press statement he personally signed and issued to Journalists in Kaduna on Thursday.

According to him the past five days have been the most horrible in the history of the Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.

“The gruesome murder of over 40 persons, the burning down of settlements with reckless abandon, and displacement of thousands from their ancestral lands by suspected Fulani bandits was quite unfortunate, sad and condemnable.

” It is unthinkable that our communities could be so rampaged and burnt down in broad daylight on a daily basis without any visible government intervention or arrests.

“As we speak, Abuyab, Magamiya, Walkan, Ung. Ruhogo, Makarau, and Mayayit, among other communities, have come under heavy attacks with yet to be ascertained number of deaths and destruction of property and farmlands.

He explained that what was happening in the region was a declaration of war and the silence from those whose responsibility it is to protect life and property is not only palpable but also smacks of complicity,” Francis said

The Chairmanship hopeful added that the sight of helpless and harpless women, children and the aged running into Samaru Kataf or Zonkwa for safety is too painful to bear or recount, adding the State and Federal Governments should take urgent and decisive steps to stop the organised pogrom that was being executed on his people.

” The National and State Emergency Management Agencies, Local Government Authority and other relevant government agencies should immediately mobilize resources and respond to the attendant humanitarian challenge.

He also call on all community and religious leaders to close ranks and work towards the restoration of peace and normalcy to the Local Government Area. This is no longer a matter of choice, but one of absolute necessity.

He prayed to God to grant eternal rest to those killed, healing to those suffering varying degrees of injuries, heal the land and grant succour to the families of victims of this canage.
End.
