Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, representing Nasarawa South senatorial district at the red chamber of the National Assembly, has for the fifth time given back to the people of his constituency.
The Micro Loan disbursement ceremony to 2000 beneficiaries in collaboration with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), took place at Ta’al Model School ,Lafia,
Senator Al-Makura, while speaking, thanked the Director General NDE and the state coordinator for making it possible for the 2000 beneficiaries of the gesture, in which he is a facilitator.
The senate states that the disbursement was apt in time owing to the challenges bedeviling the country and the world at large, that was occasioned by the outbreak of COVID-19.
He said” I believed these support will go a long way to alleviating the hardship of suffering of our people who are less privilege to have the way withal in boosting their small businesses.
” One may consider Ten Thousand to be too small, but when you think of the shoe shiners, the Vulcanizer, the woman who fried Kulikuli and Akara, you will realised how much these can go in boosting their efforts ” Al-Makura reiterated.
Chairman of the occasion, who is the chairman of Lafia LGA, Honourable Aminu Muaza Mafata, said it is now that the zone is experiencing real and fruitful representation at the National Assembly.
Also speaking at the event, the Nasarawa state coordinator NDE, Alhaji Dauda Ease, said the aim of the programme was to disbursed micro loans to 2000 beneficiaries in Nasarawa state ,because of the global COVID-19/pandemic .
Wase further explained that the exercise will be in phases and that the beneficiaries were also Batched into small numbers to prevent large gathering, in line with government guidelines.
” For this reason, we are simultaneously doing the disbursement today in 5 different centers across the state to take care of 980 people” He said.
