By Musa Sunusi Ahmad

Ahead of the forthcoming governorship election, a chieftain of Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Abiola Oladapo, has defected to the All
Progressives Congress(APC) at the party secretariat in Akure, the
state capital.

Oladapo , the House of Assembly candidate of the party in the
last general elections from Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo
State constituency II ,
with some leaders of the party in his constituency officially dumped
their former party to the ruling APC yesterday.

Receiving them on behalf of the governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the
chairman of the party, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, enjoined them to move
round and garner support for the party and the governorship candidate
of the party and deliver his constituency for the party in the
forthcoming election.

Adetimehin who seized the opportunity to highlight some of the
achievements of Akeredolu-led administration, particularly the citing
of industries in the Ondo/Linyl Industrial Hub at Omotosho in
Ore/Odigbo local government area of the state, asked them to get
registered in APC in his ward and obtain their membership card.

The defectors, however, promised to put in their best and ensure
adequate mobilization for the APC for victory in the October 10, 2020
governorship election in the state.

While describing APC as a party that provides opportunity for members
to be whatever they want to be, Oladapo promised to deliver the
constituency with concerted efforts of other members and supporters of
the party.
