

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Nuhu Goro Shadalafiya of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Comfort Amwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winners of Kagorko and Sanga State House of Assembly elections conducted on Saturday.
With the announcement by INEC, the duo will return to the Kaduna state house of assembly as representatives of their respective constituencies.
For the Kagarko State House Of Assembly seat, INEC had in 2019, announced Hon Morandia Tanko of the PDP as winner but Shadalafiya, a former deputy speaker in the assembly, went to court challenging the announcement of the PDP candidate and the court declared for a rerun election that was conducted Saturday.
But Tanko lost his bid to retain the seat at the Kaduna State House Of Assembly as Nuhu Goro Shadalafiya of the APC has been declared winner of the Kagarko State House Of Assembly Constituency rerun election held Saturday, 25th January, 2020.
Shadalafiya polled 24, 658 votes to emerged winner while Tanko got 20,206 votes, according to the result announced by the constituency returning officer, Dr Haruna Aminu of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Some of the voters while fielding questions from our correspondent expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the election, adding that the process was peaceful, free and fair.
