The Kaduna State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested 21 persons breaking the lockdown rules. They were arrested in hotels in the Kaduna metropolis at about 01:00 am of Thursday, 4th June, 2020.
In a press briefing on Thursday 4th June, 2020, the public relation officer of the command, ASC. Omdili Terzungwe disclosed that the command is worried by complaints it receives from authorities in the state of Inadequate non compliance of the lockdown order by government which is still in force.
The public relation officer said that credible intelligence report revealed that residents of millennium city and kigo road are areas where illegality is high and the command resolved to take action to reverse the ugly trend.
“The lockdown order which is still in place requires all bars, clubs, schools and worship centres to remain shut until further directives,” he said.
Terzungwe said on completion of investigations, all the suspects will be charged to court for violation of the lockdown. Daylight Reporters reports that to control the COVID- 19 pandemic, Kaduna State Government had locked down the state, but created a three days window on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for residents to restock essentials.
